Surgical Instructions
Everything you need to know to prepare for your procedure and recover comfortably at home.
Introduction
Preparing for Surgery & Recovery
Careful preparation before surgery and attentive care afterward are two of the most important factors in a safe procedure and a smooth recovery. The instructions on these pages apply to most procedures performed at Desert Maxillofacial Center, including wisdom teeth removal, tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and corrective jaw surgery.
Please read the instructions that apply to your appointment before your surgery date. You will also receive written instructions from our team, and any specific directions given to you by Dr. Erondu or our staff take priority over the general information on this website.
If you have questions at any time, call our office at 760-837-1515.

Anesthesia
Anesthesia & Your Comfort
Depending on the procedure and your preferences, treatment may be completed with local anesthesia, IV sedation, or another appropriate option. Your anesthesia plan is reviewed with you at your consultation.
If you are scheduled for IV sedation, the Before Surgery instructions include important requirements about fasting, medications, and having a responsible adult accompany you. Surgery cannot be performed under sedation if these requirements are not met.
